Download the Aerobatic/Practice Areas
Want to add the aerobatic and practice areas to ForeFlight? Just download this KML file and add it as a custom map layer under Custom Content in ForeFlight. Need help doing that? Keep reading!
To load the KML into ForeFlight, email the KML file to yourself, open up your email on your iPad and click & hold on the KML attachment, select Share, select the ForeFlight app, ForeFlight will open to save the file, select Custom Content, then select Custom Map Layers. The KML file will be saved.
To draw the practice areas, on the ForeFlight Map, click the layers pulldown menu in the upper left, scroll all the way down the list until you see name of the KML file at the bottom, click to turn it on. Zoom to the area on the map and you will see red outlined practice areas with a point symbol in the center of each and the names next to them. Click on one of the point symbols and info will appear to the right, click on More Details to see more information about the selected practice area. Info includes the name, ceiling, frequency to use, and any caution info.
